Default How do you open Saved Adobe files on the Media Card??

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all!

I just installed a 512meg micro SD card in my 8830. I enabled the mass storage mode, and it shows up like any other USB drive when I connect to my desktop computer. I copied over a folder containing some Adobe files I would like to view, however I cant figure out how to get to the folder that had the Adobe files in it to view them! The Verizon rep tells me the micro SD card is for media only!?

I know the phone can open the files because I have opened Adobe attachments from emails fine.

So, how do I get to these files and open them?

Thanks!

You can't from the media card. You can from email attachments.

Well that sucks! I love this phone BUT at least with my Treo I could open saved Word and Adobe documents. What about that program eOffice? Is there any way to save Documents to the micro SD card and open them later?

No, eOffice won't enable document management using the SD card.

Attach to an email to yourself and open it.

after using the search feature on this forum, i found out the only way to view a file saved on your media card is to email the file to yourself. you can send yourself an email from and to your blackberry and attach the file.

I would be surprised if some quick thinking third party app developer didn't come up with a solution for this. It would be very nice to save .pdf's to the media card for later reference without using up the device memory with email attachments.

I have opened some documents from the memory card using Idokorro's Mobile File Manager, it is hit or miss but it IS a start.

Just save the email once you receive it and its saved on your Device Memory - not SD but its saved

i think i encountered a problem... i emailed myself an attachment (word doc) and i can open it, but can't save it to my sd card. i thought i had done this when i was running 4.2.0.64, but i can't do it now (4.2.1.96).

Am i doing something wrong ?
