Question Will the Tmobile desktop manager not work with an unlocked Curve?

Please Login to Remove!

If this is a no brainer I apologize, but i just got my unlocked Curve and when I plugged it in to add some themes, it wouldnt work. any help would be great

It will work, but first you need to edit the blackberry.alx file to unlock the themes.

im not trying to add vendor themes...just some 8800 ones. and now its stuck on edge :( HELP!!!

the desktop manager says:

"The Blackberry Device desktop software does not blackberry device software that you have connected to the computer......

Have you downloaded the OS for the Curve? Run it on your computer? Deleted the Vendor.xml file from your PC?

Those are the steps I'd try before suggesting it doesn't work. There are quite a few Tmo customers using an unlocked Curve with little issue.

As for the themes, delete the Vendor information from the Blackberry.alx file, and you'll have all the themes. There are no themes on the 88XX series, save the VZW one, that aren't already built into the .alx file.

my concern was over the fact that i had an unlocked 8800 and when i plugged it in, it worked perfectly and this Curve did not. i will try your suggestions. thank you

Make certain you load the Manager that came with the Curve. I sync'd with Outlook using my old Pearl Desktop Manager and ran into issues with continuous duplication of Calendar entries on my BB. I had to WIPE the BB and start over. Once I loaded the version which was shipped with the Curve, all was well and I have had NO issues running on T-Mobile.
