Default My pearl has a QWERTZ keyboard

Please Login to Remove!

I picked up a new white t-mobile pearl a few days ago. Before I got in my car to drive home, I noticed that the Z and the Y letters were switched....NOT the whole key, just the letter. When I pressed Z, it would spell out Y...and vice versa. Weird eh? Then I looked on my box and saw that my phone was made in Mexico. So I took my phone back and had it replaced that day. I think the one I have now is made in Hungary or something. I'll have to verify that when I get home.

Have any of you had a similar experience?

yah, at first i thought it might have been a counterfeit phone. but i got it from an authorized t-mobile dealer.

i wonder if the build quality varies that much from each different country.

can you guys post where your pearls were made? (look on the box)

maybe the keypad was meant for a german phone, but was placed on a US spec phone... anyway, mine was made in mexico as well, but the build quality seems pretty good...

made in mexico....mine is.

made in iraq ? is that for real ? can't be pre-occupation, the pearl wasn't around then...

this is real strange, perhaps companies have been trying to stimulate their economy or something. but i would have thought the grounds are still too unstable for that....

I recently got it on a warranty replacement. I think it is a refurb based on the data I found on it when performing a sync with Outlook.
