despite being in the correct profile, without any exceptions being active and without reason I have been able to determine, messages sometimes arrive via sms or email which do not audibly alert or vibrate. THe new message indicator does, however, count the message and the led does flash red.

I have upgraded to a curve/8300r but this problem also occurred on my 8700r.

Is anyone familiar with this problem, experiencing it or have any idea what the cause is?

And you have it off MUTE, and unchecked Do Not Disturb. As well as both IN holster and OUT of holster set for audible alert? For messages, SMS, etc...

Yes, these were the first things I checked. It makes no sense. No rhyme, no reason. I thought it was an 8700 glitch but now it is recurring on my curve. I am starting to wonder if it's a glitch in the settings because when i moved over to the curve, my BES just pushed all of my settings to my new device and likely pushed the rogue setting as well. Hopefully this is just a transient situation that will resolve. If anyone else has any ideas, please let me know. THanks.

I have the same problem with my 8707v. Any ideas?

Pull the battery first and reboot. See if it works.

If still no, check the settings as above in post #2.

I have this same issue with an 8830 with a little twist. I have 3 email accounts set up and this only happens when I receive email to my main email address that is synced with my companies bes and email servers.

I get alerted for the other 2 accounts and SMS messages. I have tried the whole remove the battery trick and the mute and dnd are not on.

Any ideas?
