All-

First post and purchased my first Blackberry today (I'm a Cingular Samsung Blackjack owner that just made the switch to VZW and the 8830 World Edition (got it for $199 too!).

Anyways, I was setting up the email through I believe it's BIS, using the Setup Wizard. I am setting up a Yahoo acct, a gmail acct, most likely a 3rd email account in the future, and also, my corporate/work account (prolly through AS).

When I was setting up the BIS account username, I THOUGHT I was creating an account name for my Yahoo acct so it became my username-YAHOO. Now that's my BIS username. I know, I'm dumb.

I can't find ANYWHERE where I can change my username. Must I call VZW support to do this? Ughh... what a pain.

Anyways, sweet forum and I'm looking forward to learning more about the BB.

Unfortunately you will need to contact Verizon Support. I have heard that some carriers charge you to change your BIS account name.

Well, I just bought the phone today. If they try to charge me, I will say ok, then I guess I will return the phone and get a new one so I can get a new username mapped to a new PIN =P

I'll post here if Verizon tries to charge and if pressed, whether or not they do. I know it's my fault, but it's fairly obvious from the username I selected that it was a mistake. They don't even need to change it, just delete it and I'll re-create it with a more appropriate name.

Definitely worth a shot w/their customer service before you go through the hassle of returning etc.

Called VZW support. They deleted my BIS username for me no problem. I re-created it with the appropriate naming and it's good to go. Now i"m having a new problem, but I should probably post in the 8800 Series Discussion thread so I'll do that =P
