Hey guys, I'm brand new to the whole BB world -- and am glad to, as of a minute ago, be the newest member on this site!!

I recently purchased the 8300, and was wondering if under BB Dimension Today theme, can unread emails AND unread SMS messages be displayed, or only the emails?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I was able to get this to work by going to Messages > Options > General Settings and setting the SMS and Email Inxoes option to "Combined." This setting was on my 8700g BlackBerry with the 4.2.1 OS installed, so I am assuming the Curve has it too.

There is no editing of the Today themes. We don't get to pick and choose what is displayed, unfortunatly.

Try Vodafone today theme.
It shows Emails ans SMS seperately on the home screen.

can someone help? I downloaded a theme from Themes4BB. But it doesn't show on my 8300. What do I need to change.

Since there are no real aftermarket 8300 themes available, it's possible that the 8700 theme you downloaded is not compatible.
Try a battery pull to be sure.

I didn't realize themes were so model specific. That didn't work either, so I'll try when someone puts up an 8300 theme I like.
