Default Message read in outlook but not in 8800

I have this user who is using a 8800. The problem is when when she opens/read her mails in outlook 2003, it still shows as unread on her 8800, even after a few days. What could be the problem and how to fix this issue ? We have updated the 8800 firmware to the latest 4.2 version though.

Would appreciate if anyone can shed some light on this.

Thanks

I trust you are using BES? If so, check the email options on the BB and confirm that the Email Reconcilation is set to wireless. While you are there, confirm the other settings are the way you want them.

If she is getting her emails them I am sure the carrier has the account setup for BES rather than some other PDA. If after checking all this, I would hard reset the phone back to factory and go ther Enterprise Activation again. If that does not work, call BES technical support for assistance.

Yes, we are using BES and the 8800 is able to send/receive mails. Email reconcilation is set to wireless. Just that the mails read in outlook appears unread on the 8800.

I will try to bounce this off a couple of our BB admins today if I get a chance. This is very odd. It does seem like that we have had this issue a couple of times. Agian, I would suggest doing a wipe of the handheld and Enterprise activation again and see what happens.

You might also poke around the BB administration area of the forum here and see what you can find.

Have you checked that the "wireless Reconcile" is on?

Go into mail -> options -> Email Reconcilation -> and check the optinon Wireless Reconcile is set to ON.

You might also want to see if her calendar is updating or if this is just effecting her working with email?

Hope this helps..

Is she reading and deleting the emails in Outlook (and then emptying the deleted items folder) before the BB has the chance to reconcile?

She feedback that on Thursday when she reads her mails on her BB, her monday mails are still reflecting as unopen. Wireless Reconcilation is set to ON. During the firmware update to 4.2, it actually backup the BB, do a wipeout, install the updates and then restore back the backup. Is this as good as doing a re-activation ?

Thanks for the feedabck so far
