New Verizon Wireless BlackBerry coming soon?
Please Login to Remove!
I thought I had heard that Verizon would be adding a new BlackBerry...one like the 8830 model but more for casual users, with a camera, more media stuff, etc and less "business tools", whatever that means.
Has anyone heard any news regarding Verizon and upcoming BlackBerry models?

A Verizon rep at a local retail store said their new Pearl should be coming out soon. That's all I know for what its worth.

There are rumors of both a pearl2 and an 8300 version (with international GSM support). The rumors of the pearl are more solid then the 8300. Release date is unknown.

Need Verizon help, 8830 or Pearl ???
Please help.....I was all set to get the 8830 world edition from verizon (I am locked in with them due to many family members using verizon!!!) Now, it looks like they will release a new version of the pearl in a month or so....I can wait, But, could you help me and tell me the advantages/disadvantages of the pearl...I know about the camera, it is not a big issue to me, but i need to know if I should wait as I have my heart set on the 8830....Are there any other major features or services I would be missing out on ? I will be using the phone primarily in the United States....Thanks in advance for all your Help.......I really appreciate it.......

I have the 8830 and I used to have the pearl on tmobile. I must say I miss the camera function but overall the 8830 is a lot nicer. I like the qwerty keyboard better (suretype was nice but sometimes if you werent looking at the screen when u were typing it would predict the wrong word). I also like the fact that the 8830 is a lil bigger than the pearl, but thats just my personal preference. If you can go to a tmo store and play with the pearl and go to the verizon store and play with the 8830 and make your decision from there. Hope this helps.

I am waiting on the Pearl. I currently have 7130 and definitely want to downsize. I think it is personal preference as to keyboard type and size. I agree with christine, go to a tmobile and vzw store and test them out. I am looking forward to carrying a pearl without a huge bulge in my pocket, I am not a big fan of the holsters and only use it when necessary. I also like suretype. The 8830 is just too wide for me. Good luck in your decision, the 8830 is great device and hopefully the Pearl will be to when it arrives.

One thing I don't like about the 8830 is the 2.5mm plug on it. I don't know why they did that, there's plenty of room for the 3.5mm to have gone on it. Silly RIM designers.

Evil, can't wait for the weekend Yankees series! Go Sox!
I am thinking that a miracle might occur and that come nov 4th when vzw announces and starts selling the Pearl, it will actually be a Pearl 2!!!
Now that would be something. And yes, I know its not happening---a man can dream can't he?

Dont worry Verizon will cripple the hell out of the phone and the customer service will be useless as usual. Besides, their all hyped about getting a phone that tmobile has already had out for over a year? Give me a break, the least they should be doing is going with the Curve better. They never learn.

Sometime ago you said that you were getting a 8830 if my memory is still functional. Just curious.
