Default Good bye 8700g

Please Login to Remove!

I bought a new 8700g a few weeks ago to replace my 20 month old model which was showing too much internal light from the case cracks.

So I get a new one from Terrible-Mobile. The dang phone won't hold a call call longer than 3 minutes. It usually disconnects in 20 to 30 seconds but sometimes I hit a 3 minute call.

So they send a replacement ... oh, the bluetooth sync is defective, "so we'll send you a new one."

Well today the new one arrives and it's labeled "Refurb".

Nay, nay, I say. Take this phone and ...... do the Charley Pride thing, okay?

So T-Mobile says, "Try our Dash instead."

Let's see how this works out.

I truly doubt that it can be worse than my recent experience with Blackberry. Makes me wonder why the Rimm stock is flying.

Quite a rant considering you never even came here for any help (at least didn't post any questions.)

It's funny...most here consider the 8700 to be the best BB of all time. It's always been a rock solid device. I don't think your experience is common. Additionally, "Terrible-Mobile", as you so eloquently put it, isn't the only carrier to sell the 8700 and warranty replacements are refurbs from most of the carriers.

The best bet would have been to post the problems you were having here and you likely could have stuck with your original, new device. My guess is that a software upgrade would have fixed it right up.

Although I didn't ask for help, I certainly did come and get help based on similar problems that others had. I tried probably 5 software swaps between what I read here and what the T-Mo people wanted.

I agree that my experience with the new 8700 is the exception. The reason that I bought another 8700 is the great experience that I had with my previous one, as mentioned early on, 20 months of service but too many case cracks.

Johnny Paycheck! How could I ever forget?

Kudos on searching, of course, but there's no need to be shy in posting a question. Sometimes what you need doesn't always come up in a search.

Coming back from the dead (first post in how many months?) to say I completely agree. Ive had my 8703e for about a year now and will never turn back, even whilst using 4.1. This is the first time that I'm NOT looking to get the newest most updated phone on the block... even with the "New Every Two" coming up in December.

OK, heading back into hibernation
