What is the general concensious ?

Is it worth it ?

Does the wifi do everything it should ?

Oh and yes I had the 8800 and am currently trying the Iphone which I see as a nice device and does everything its supposed too, save myself 10 dollars a month on the rate and have repair or exchange availability locally instead of waiting for someone to ship me a new/refurbish device.

Just figured I would ask. Please save the Iphone comments I've read them all.

the WI FI is nice to have in an area that you don't have AT&T service mainly over sea.
but I think ATT did some think to it, if skipe will work it will be good,
also they add HEBREW to it and that alone is enough for me.
the iphone is good toy work good for me but it's life time is 3 years .after that you will need new battery, and I don't like some one taking it apart.

Like the others have said, the 8820 is at 8800 with WiFi and spell checker. It is a nice device but I am seldom near WiFi except at home and then I prefer the screen on my 15" laptop.

The WiFi funtion is FAST, very FAST compared to the cellular speeds.

I know I cannot get a wifi connection on my back deck on the IPhone, but with my MBP I get a solid connection

i guess what is nice about have the wifi built in, is pretty soon there are going to be open free hot spots everywhere, they already have them at coffee shops, soon they will have them at airports and parks and who knows what else

You will not feel the same about your new iPhone in 3 years, believe me.

Does Wifi seem much faster than EDGE? Seems the 8320 guys are having some speed issues. BGR did a speed test with 2 8320's and found that Wifi and EDGE were pretty close (EDGE even a bit faster). Just wondering if this is the case with the 8820.

While I have no hard statistical data to substantiate it, I do not feel GPRS/EDGE and WiFi are that close in speed. WiFi seems MUCH faster than the carriers network. Perhaps it is TMo's network or local coverage.

I have the 8820 for a week now. I prefer this over my previous Samsung i600 (WM5). The navigation, sleekness and functionalities is all worth it.

The only con is that it does not have 3G. That will make it 10/10.
