I have an unlocked Blackberry 8300, which used to be locked to Cingular, but now is used for Tmobile. Somehow, the voicemail icon is always on, and when I call my voicemail, there are none. What can I do to stop this problem?

Sometimes when I have a user with this problem, I have them reset the entire voice mail by calling #793#. This resets the password to the last 4 digits of your phone number. The next time you call voicemail, you should be prompted to change it. You may also need to record your outgoing message again. Of course, this is with a branded T-Mobile BB, not an unlocked device. I cant say it works everytime, but its worth a try.

I tried doing it but it didn't work. Do you think a hard rest will fix it?

I had that problem on my previous blackberry, which was an 8700. I updated my OS and it fixed the problem. Worth a shot.

Also, to prevent this I usually listen to and then delete or save my voicemails. Then I stay on the line until it says I have no more messages. Then after a second or so, the icon goes away. If I hang up immediately, sometimes the icon wouldn't go away.
