I know this is only marginally helpful, but I have a two year old 7290 that was recently updated to run on 4.1. One of the few things I hate about the 7290 is that the handset volume is way too low....

I had the same problem

Oddly it just stopped happening. I can't explain why it started and why it stopped. But I've had the unit for over a year and re-boot issue rarely happens. I've done nothing different.
