Default An error was encountered when sending the activation transmission

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have a little problem. I have around 20 BB working fine and want to activate some new but it doesn't work.
When I try to activate the device wirelessly I have the message : "An error was encountered when sending the activation transmission"
I have tried with two 8310 and the error appear in less than 2sec and with a pearl and the message appear after few minutes.

I have also tried to activate both devices with cable and it is ok activation go to 100% in few minutes but when I unplug the cable and test i can't send or receive.

I have tried with different SIM cards and I have GPRS access. I have removed user from bes and remove besadmin rights on it wipped HH and add rights and retry without success.
I have no more idea.

an idea ?

Welcome to the forums!

Have you confirmed that you can successfully send / receive PIN messages?

If you go to the Host Routing Table and perform a register now do you receive a message from BlackBerry indicating that your device has successfully registered on the network?

Do these SIM cards work successfully in other devices from the same carrier?

You've tried SMS and it doesn't work? Have you tried PIN to PIN message?

Host Routing Table is a screen on the HH under Options > Advanced Options ... if you push in the trackwheel there it'll give you an option to register now. If you select it you should get a message from blackberry indicating you're registered on the network.

Do the SIM cards have a valid BlackBerry data plan attached?

"An error was encountered when sending the activation transmission" - Received this error for the first time yesterday. Even though I could send a SMS and make a phonecall from the BB, and the BB said "GPRS" I got the above error each time I tried to activate it. Though I had a feeling the problem lay with the SIM (and not the BES).....

Called customer support and they said the SIM was active and BB enabled.... but they didn't sound very convincing so I called my "contact" within the mobile provider and got them to check it out. Turns out the SIM was a "future activation SIM" which means once it's inserted into a phone and you make a voice call it's activated, and the users old SIM is deactivated. BUT all the extra's like Blackberry, voicemail etc were not "offically" active on the SIM because there was a baclog og CDR's (customer detail records) waiting to get into their system which meant their BB server and Voicemail server etc were waiting to "offically" activate their services on the SIM.... so I had to wait a few hours before trying to activate the BB again.
