Default Help! BES Upgrade Problem

Please Login to Remove!

I'm stuck.

We had BES 4.0 on Windows 2000 Server. We have new hardware with Windows Server 2003.
I have upgraded the old server to BES 4.1. Stopped the services. Backed up the datebase. Copied the database to the new server. Restored the database on the new server. Started the services on the new server.
All seems okay, I can see the users on the new server. I went the the wizard and entered all the SRP info from the old server but it is not connecting. WHen I test the SRP it gives and error saying it cannot connect.
I now started the services on the old server and have that working okay.

Anyone know why the newserver may not be working? The problem just seems to be with the SRP identifier.

I'm tired and confused now and off to bed. I'll be back in the morning to see what you lovely people have sugested I do.

Thanks.

Did you first upgrade the 4.0 server to 4.1.x and then moved the database or moved the database from the 4.0 server to the new server and then installed 4.1.x ?

I think its better to first upgrade to 4.1.x on the old hardware and then move it to the new server - but if I understand your reading correct, you did it this way.

Have you checked if the srp identifier is valid ?

Did you try to check if you network is configured to allow connections of the new server to srp.??.blackberry.net port 3101 ?
try: telnet srp.??.blackberry.net 3101

If you cannot connect with telnet, a firewall or network filter on the server or your gateway to the internet blocks the connection.

When moving the database, did you follow: KB03112 - How to move the BlackBerry Configuration Database to a new Microsoft SQL Server or instance
