Default How to tether a XP or Vista laptop via Bluetooth?

Please Login to Remove!

I'd like to start tethering via Bluetooth once I get the Bold. So, I was looking into tethering how-to's for Blackberry and came across this:

Using BlackBerry As Modem - BlackBerryFAQ

I'm spoiled by the "Internet sharing" app on Windows Mobile phones and was expecting an easier way of doing this. So, IS there an easier method to tether a Windows laptop to Blackberry via Bluetooth? Any 3rd party apps that might help ease the process?

Thx,

Sabesh.

If there was an easier way, we would have it posted. It's actually very simple. You can use bluetooth but it slows it down.

I've found bluetooth for modem use to be slower than USB and runs the battery down quickly. It does work, though.

When you say "slow" do you mean the laptop slows down or the Blackberry or simply the download speed on the laptop?

And yes, BT will drain more battery than USB. Anything wireless usually drains battery more on the host device as compared to a physical cable.
