Just finished loading and testing 4.5.0.37 and it worked beautifuly.
Love the new interface and the bold text all over the place.
I then went and downloaded and ran .52 and it never updated or prompted me to load the new software even after connecting desktop manager 4.5 .
The blackberry about screen still says it's the old version 4.5.0.37 .
Is there anything special that needs to be done to update to the newer version ?
all the best,
Lewis

Yes, follow the instructions exactly as posted, including deleting the vendor.xml file.

oops the most important one which I missed was to delete vendors.xml after installing the handheld software.
As soon as I did this and plugged in my blackberry it went through the entire update.
Sorry I did not read entirely first before posting

Worked in 4.5.0.37. After 4.5.0.52 install, it stopped working properly. Was on most recent Empower version (3.0.72.7). Find that it doesn't open messages with Empower despite correct settings. Less importantly, header display options reset automatically.
I deleted Empower in DM. Reinstalled OTA. Still have same problems. Disabled Empower until next version.

It may depend on what you're doing with the program. Are you on BES, and if so have you tried opening attachments and using the menu button? Once in a while it would work for me, but generally not. The email would be frozen. And as I said, Empower indicated this specific problem is because of incompatability. Hopefully, though, it's completely working for you; otherwise it may just be that you haven't gotten to the point of incompatability.

I got a message saying:
Invalid Configuration
The application "Blackberry 4.5.0 Core Applications" cannot be loaded because some required files are not available.
Any ideas on this one?
Thanks

ok folks. I was using Youmail as the previous betas were missing the VM icon. Upgraded to this OS and still no VM icon? I didn't change the number or nothing. Is there something I am not doing?

You have to switch back to TMobile voicemail before you'll get a voicemail icon. Youmail doesn't support TMobile's voicemail indicator.

OK, maybe i'm not seeing it or i'm a complete moron, but when i click on the link for the latest OS, it takes me to the BB Website and the only Curve OS in the drop down menu is for the 8320. Can someone else check this out and make sure i'm not crazy? If this is the case, maybe we can get that link fixed... Thanks everyone!

Have you tried the magical "pull your battery while the phone is running" trick yet?
And then, you probably need to delete and re-send your service books.
(Just parroting what I've read here many times. I haven't had any problems with mine.)

New Phone
Hey Everyone,
Just wanted to share my experience with trying to update the OS on my phone. I didnt see anyone else have this problem so figured I'd post it just as an FYI and see if someone might know what went wrong.
I followed the instructions on how to update and everything seemed to be working fine. Plugged in the phone and DM asked if I wanted to do the update, to which I said Yes. I knew the update would take a while so I wasnt paying real close attention, but best I can tell it did a full backup, and when it started to do the update, the phone looked as if it was restarting. The phone never came back on. All I could get was a black screen and a red blinking LED. I made sure the battery was fully charged before starting, and read the instructions on how to do it so many times just to be sure I wasnt missing anything.
Anyways, just wanted to put it out there. I read this post and it doesnt seem anyone else had this problem, so it must have been me, but I just cant figure out how or what went wrong. If you have any ideas I'm open to them, if not, guess just an FYI.
Brad
