Default Platform.alx Editing

Please Login to Remove!

I mentioned once before how you can remove the Push To Talk option by editing the Platform.alx file and changing the pttApp="True" and making it pttApp="False".

I noticed that the same line has entries Theme="Normal" and ThemeSupport="Enhanced". Does anyone know if there are other options allowed for Theme, and if so what they might do? I'm guessing Theme="Enhanced" might be an option, but I'm not quite daring enough to try changing it without some clue what might happen.

Is anyone out there daring enough to try changing it?

http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ee-memory.html

has it listed how to remove ptt,

or just

delete
net_rim_bb_phone_ptt_app.cod
KnJCDE.cod
both those files from the java directory and rerun app loader, it will remove them from the device.

I know you can remove PTT by deleting the files. I am more intrigued by the way you can remove it with the Platform.alx file. It has other options listed and I wondered if anyone had tried editing them to see what they do.

Personally I change the VendID from 102 to 999. It doesn't even try to install PTT, and if you run Application Loader, it removes it for you.

We're getting away from where I was going with this thread.

I want to know if anyone has tried editing the "Theme=Normal" setting and if so what it does. It seems odd that they would have a "Theme=Normal" setting without there being the possibility of other options. Does anyone have any idea what they might be?
