Default Blackberry curve 8320 problem help!

I just bought an Blackberry curve 8320 unlocked....and when I make a call to another mobile phone it keeps asking for an area code?? I cannot make a call its keep saying that?I can receive a call but not make one to another mobile phone

how do I fix this?

You could enter your area code in the smart dialing option.
Menu-options-smart dialing.
Not sure if this will work.

why dont you try calling back anyone from recent call log who has called you..and if it makes the call..then the otherway to get around your issue is by simply dial the area code followed by the number or follow the instructions mentions above this post..Hope this helps.

TKC is right - you need to change the default country code and number length within the phone dialer.
