Default OCS 2007 Set up - Need Help

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

I have upgraded the BS to SP6. There were no issues. I'd like to get the OCS client running on our devices here but I'm having some problems understanding the exact method required to set up OCS connectivity.

Currently we have the LCS 2007 server running, Web Access is enabled.

My questions are as follow:

*What server should BES be pointing to? The OCS server or the WEB access address of that server?

*How do you know if AJAX is actually installed (I did not build the OCS server and that person is unavailable at the moment)

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Paul

1) The OCS server
2) Ajax is installed with CWA. If you have the ajax.dll it looks to be installed.

Will be setting this up on our site soon. Got this yesterday from support.

=================

On the Communicator Web Access (CWA) server:
1) Ensure Internet Information Services (IIS) is installed
2) Ensure .NET 2.0 is installed
3) Install CWA
a. "Activate" CWA
i. Import Certificate
b. "Create a Virtual Server"
c. "Install Communicator Web Access Administrative Snap-In"

In Communicator Web Access Manager:

1) Right-click Microsoft Communicator Web Access Manager>Connect...
2) Browse to the Communicator Web Access Server
3) Right-click FQDN of CWA Server and choose "Create Web Access Server"
4) Click Next at the Create Virtual Server Wizard for Communicator Web Access Server
5) Select the type of virtual server (default = Internal) and click Next
6) Select Authentication type (note: BES requires "Forms-based authentication") and click Next
7) Select HTTP or HTTPS as connection type
a. Click 'Select Certificate...' if using HTTPS
b. Choose the CWA certificate intended for Server Authentication and click OK
8) Specify an IP range (default = All) and TCP port (defaults = HTTP:80 or HTTPS:443) and click Next
9) Enter a description (i.e. "CWA") and click Next
10) Leave the Start this virtual server... box checked and click Next
11) Click Next
12) Click Finish

In IIS Manager (only if using HTTPS):

1) Right-click CWA Web Site>Properties
2) Go to the Directory Security tab and click 'Edit...' under Secure communications
3) Place a check in the Require secure channel (SSL) box
4) Click OK and OK

On CWA Server:

1) Install Microsoft KB 937431

In IIS Manager:

1) Right-click Web Service Extensions folder and choose 'Add a new Web service extension...'
a. Fill in the Extension name field with "Ajax"
b. Add the 'ajax.dll' from C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Communicator Web Access\ajax
c. Place a check in the Set extension status to Allowed box
d. Click OK
2) Right-click the CWA virtual Web server and choose Properties
a. Go to the ISAPI Filters tab
b. Add the 'ajax.dll' file from C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Communicator Web Access\ajax
c. Click OK
3) Right-click the CWA application from within the CWA virtual Server and choose Properties
a. Go to the Virtual Directory tab
b. Click the 'Configuration...' button
c. Under Wildcard application maps (order of implementation): click 'Insert...'
d. Insert the 'ajax.dll' file from C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Communicator Web Access\ajax
e. Click OK and OK
f. Restart the CWA virtual Web server

Red face OCS 2007 Set up - Need Help

We are about to upgrade to BES 4.1.6 from 4.1.4 and will be configuring for OCS 2007 for the first time. Do you have any set up instructions now posted on the Forums Website? Anyway to get a link if available?

Thanks.

We are trying to get the two running at the moment and are having a tough time. I have been going back and forth with RIM support, and although they do not have any formal documentation to integrating the two, these are the instructions for initially setting uip the connection.

From the CWA server, highlight the domain and select 'Create Virtual Web Server'.
1) Leave the virtual server type as 'Internal'. Select 'Next'.
2) Leave the default 'Built-in Authentication' for the Authentication type. Select 'Next'.
3) Leave both authentication types selected, forms-based and integrated. Select 'Next'.
4) For connection type, select 'HTTP'. Select 'Next'.
5) For the IP Address leave the default as 'All Unassigned' and change the port: 1185. Select 'Next'.
6) Type a description and then on the next window start the virtual server.
7) Select 'Next' and 'Finish'.
8) On the BlackBerry Enterprise Server for the BBIM server properties, select the port number from above 1185 and select 'HTTP' for the protocol.
9) Restart the BlackBerry Collaboration service.
10) Attempt the login again.
11) Try two different logins for two different users.
