Wirelessly posted

Are you doing it on o2's BIS webpage?

Try switch device in desktop manager first.

It sounds like he is. I have just asked o2 customer support on this. You will have to call them and ask them to chase RIM on this.

You have to have a SIM in first, and it has to be registered on the network. Once you get a registration email, you should be able to switch it on the BIS website.

In response to the switch device suggestion, it won't work. Switch device wizard will move apps, settings and reactivate you on the BES, but will not move BIS accounts.

Just followed the instructions on in the BB software, and Voila, it works

Now I just need to personalise it, so I'll do a quick search before asking

Mine arrived today from Mobile Fun; I somehow managed to get the last one they had in stock.

All works great. I can't see the way in which you use Blackberry Maps, it says it's loaded but no icon? Never mind, I like Google Maps and the GPS works really well, better than I hoped actually.

I've spent about 3 hours plus on the phone today and haven't had a single issue (so far); my track record with 3G devices isn't that impressive, I've always had major issues with every handset (Nokia, Sony, Palm...).

I decided to upgrade the OS to the new 147 release; it's all OK now however initially I had a lovely 507 error that wouldn't go away. Finally tracked it to the fact the previous Curve OS installation must have left a DLL or two behind, a complete uninstall followed by reinstall fixed the problem.
