There isn't anything wrong with using .77. It's a solid OS. Of course if you can't find it then go with .66, but .77 has been around for quite a while and there haven't been any issues.

http://www.blackberryforums.com/rim-...lackberry.html

It only works on emails received AFTER the setup is complete. Also, emails have to be sent in HTML format in order to display in HTML format.

the guy never did an os upgrade so im assuming hes not a bb "pro". as you are probably aware, in the IT world "beta" versions are usually reserved for experienced testers etc. the fact that its still a beta and not yet stamped as approved and "official" by any carrier tells me that its not yet "ready" for the public, and surely not for someone that might not have too much experience. when he installs a beta, or an os from another carrier for that matter and has ANY issue, hes likely going to call tech support and be pissed to find that they wont help him because he installed an unsupported os.

Worst case, he'll be back here asking how to downgrade. At this point in the 4.5 OS's the newer the version you can find, the better. .66 will likely be more buggy than .77. He'll have better luck with the later version (if it can be found. )

I know US Cellular pulled theirs, so I click on prior latest OS and MTS has pulled their 4.5, so I click on that prior latest OS and that is a 4.3. I am not destined to have 4.5 on my 8330 I guess.

Just a thought... Double and triple check that the file did not get another extension when you completed your edit. xxxx.alx.txt I had that happen when editing a launguage file.. Just a thought.

I have .77 running. I noticed that all of my default images are gone. Anyway I can restore those? This whole window-esk picture is driving me nuts I loved one of the default ones from my 8830 (in 4.3)

Check the media section of this forum. They should be in there. Alternatively, there are loads of backgrounds that you can download for free all over the internet. Just google "blackberry backgrounds" and you will find a lot of sites.

Does what work? This OS release for the 8330?

No, it doesn't work on the 8100.

Backgrounds are just image files so, yes, it would work for the 8100. Just make sure that you select the format that is best for your device (I believe that most Curve formats are interchangable) when you download it. Best to find an OTA so that you don't have to load the file through the desktop software but sometimes that is easier said than done.

Agreed on the OS response above. You have to get the OS upgrade that is specific for your model and this is only for the 8330.

Anyone out there have a 4.5 version that they are using VZNavigator on?? I just had to downgrade to 4.3 so that I could use the software for some travel that I am doing (it wouldn't allow a download with 4.5.0.77). Thoughts????

Actually, deleting the vendor file is the third step. Follow the instructions exactly as posted for best results.

You should not have to resend Service Books (I think that is what you intended?). They should backed and restored and/or be sent automatically.
