Default Wireless Upgrade

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys,

I noticed in Options > Advanced Options, there is something called Wireless Upgrade. I presume that is to upgrade the OS to newer versions. Does this look up the vendor ID and just check your specific vendor's version or does it automatically look up the newest publically released version.

Has anyone tried using the Wireless Upgrade option?

Thanks,
--Phil

thats an option for BES users... so the IT admin can PUSH OS upgrades to the device OTA so they dont have to hunt down the BB to do it on a PC

Wireless Upgrade is not yet enabled on RIMs infrastructure.
It currently won't do anything for BES users or BIS users.

(When it is enabled, it won't be for BES users only.)

My other half's Curve has this option and she's on BIS - but when Orange set her up, they added orange's BES product to her account :(

Default OK this is funky...

I have been through a bunch of os upgrades and downgrades the past few days. The same os would have the option and then it disappears. Or vice-versa.

Now I am on .150 and I have the option but it does not work as before. On .125 it would go through the steps and check the network, then it would say that no upgrade is available. Now, as soon as select it it would tell me that no upgrade is available.

Anyway, I am on BIS. So it looks like the option should be there but sometimes it's not there for some reason. I don't think it has anything to do with BIS or BES. I think it has more to do with what happens during os upgrades and how DM does it.

I understand and completely agree. I was just trying to figure out why sometimes the option is there in the menu and why it's not.

I just rebooted my BB (Alt+Shift+Delete) and guess what, the Wireless Upgrade option is not there anymore. Before I rebooted it was there. I did nothing special before rebooting, no config changes, no installation or upgrades and did not connect my BB to DM.
