A lot of money has been spent marketing the Curve brand, it only makes sense to capitalize on it with the new phone. Not to mention the phone looks like an evolved 83xx.
I want to pick up a blackberry curve but i want to wait for this as well so i really dont know what to do.
I'm in the same boat as you!!!
I didnt even hear a release date I've even called tmobile and they telling me the only thing they got coming out from blackberry is that BB flip pearl i rather wait then to dump my money on a new curve 8320 then to extend my contract and be with them for 4 years instead of 2 years!!!! because my contract is already up as of now ..

with t-mo rolling out its 3G i'm kinda hoping this new curve gets pushed back and a 3G radio gets squeezed in. not likely the case with the bold but who knows.
The Blackberry 8900 (Curve or Javelin, which ever pleases you) has not been OFFICIALLY announced by RIM yet. Although we do expect it to come out sometime in the near future, for all we know, they can entirely scrap the phone and never come out with it. T-mobile cannot tell you when this phone is going to be released until RIM first announces it.

Well, the Javelin was never officially named the Javelin. "Javalin" was just the code name for the phone, just as most of the other blackberry devices were given before thier release, such as the 8700 "electron" and the Curve "baby bear", "mama bear", and "papa bear". The "Javalin" is actually the Curve 2, and will most likely not be released as the Blackberry Javelin.
