Bis Problem!!!!
Please Login to Remove!
I have the BOLD and have a BIS account. I can pin and send emails from my blackberry but for some reason I'm not getting any emails pushed to my phone. I have 3 email account thats not receiving anything. I factory reset the phone, got the network reset over the phone with customer service (ROGERS), reset my voice plan and data plan while deleting and getting service books resent to my blackberry. I checked the "service status" on the phone and it says I'm not connected to BIS, EVEN THOUGH I'm able to pin and send outgoing emails. Does anyone know if its possible to reinstall the OS of the Bold? Or if there's something I'm missing???? PLEASE HELP MEEE!!!!!!!

Try sending the service books to your device.

Hi, I share your frustrations! The exact same thing has been happening to me. However after much deliberation, Some one on here told me to go to the sticky link at the top of this page and upgrade your os to the newest .162, i was previously running on .134. Make sure you back everything up on desktop manager before you do this!
I did this and to begin with not much changed.
I then wiped my handset back to factory settings and then deleted the email accounts off my bis account.
I then went into mobile network options and changed my network to manual, scanned for available networks and set it to my carriers 2G network, and also the network mode to 2G.
I then did a battery pull and waited 10 minutes.
Put it back together and when its on again go back to your bis account, add your emails accounts again, and send the service books.
24 hours later the emails are firing through I've had 30 in 10 minutes.
Hope this works!

Did you try Settings > Advanced > Host Routing > Register now? When you looked at service status, did it tell you if BIS was connected?

Are you getting email on your PC? If so, make sure you have "Leave Messages on Server" selected on your PC email client.
You can try pulling the battery for about 30 seconds while the device is on and letting it reboot. Sometimes that fixes it.

I have a ticket open with Rogers and the problem is with BES and BIS. The device is having problems registering on the network and emails will come in and then stop for anywhere from 15 - 90 minutes and then start coming in again.
Rogers told me that until the Firmware comes out to fix the problem, force the device into EDGE (2G) mode. Sure enough, the problem goes away when I do this. Weird thing is that the problem only appears in the GVA and not the outlying areas. As I travel east, the problem goes away...

So this is another 3G network problem with the Bold? Works with 2G/EDGE not with 3G. Am I off base in questioning whether the bold is ready for primetime 3g on either Rogers or ATT?

I moved from TELUS and an 8830 (EVDO rev. A) to the BOLD as I needed to have options (read "access") for data in the Caribbean as my last trip down there left me without voice/data for 5 days despite what 2 CSRs told me.
I thought it (the BOLD) was ready for "Prime Time" but I guess not. Then again, when the 7250 (1X) came out, I had problems with that device which resulted in multiple meetings with senior engineers to do testing of multiple versions of firmware and PRLs before the 7250 would work consistently.
I guess that is what happens when you want to be "bleeding edge" rather than mainstream...
Nevertheless, I use Rove's Mobile Admin and the 3G is needed to manage my Datacentre. 2G is fast, but when under pressure to fix things, I question whether I should just fire up my laptop with my 3G USB "Data Stick".
