Default Afraid to install BSE - Water

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I'm thinking of getting a BSE for my 8310, but I'm a bit reluctant due to the installing method (water).

I checked a couple of videos of people applying it on an i-phone, which is ok... there are no big holes. I'm afraid that water might get in trough the spaces between the keypad.

Anyone has had bad experience with this?

Just wet your finger and rub the screen... don't apply water directly to the device.

But on the instructions is says to dip the protection film in a bowl of water and soap. Is this not necessary for BB's?

thanks,

Vic.

If you're not comfortable following the instructions, then do what makes you feel comfortable. I'm not going to tell you it's not required. I just suggested something that will likely work and might make you more comfortable. In the end, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Thanks for the reply!! I was just trying to get a feedback from someone who might have done this on their BB.

If you want to protect your BlackBerry, you can always buy one of the numerous cases available. Most of them will offer you drop protection, and no water is required.

I have the stock case and one of those silicone skins:

I wanted to get a BSE so I can use it with both.

I have one of these skins on my Zen. It was easy to install and did no harm to it. My suggestion is if you are worried about doing it then don't.

I've installed Invisible Shields on all of my BB's since the 8700 and have always used the included spray. If you get the pieces wet enough to slide them around you'll be fine. The biggest concern is not getting the water indicator (IIRC in the battery compartment) wet. I've never done so on any of my BB's. Still, go with what you're comfortable with.

You don't need to get the pieces soaking wet.
