I posted a v3.1 in the Beta directory above which removes the MimeBodyPart dependency. However, it lost the HTML feature. spbbp, Redflea, can you load this to see if that was the problem?
Just posted a v3.3 on the Beta directory. This seems to extract all content types correctly from the email body and put them in the notes field. I've only tested on 8700c v4.5.0.55 and on non-html mails in the 4.2 simulator. Please test on other platforms and versions and let me know how it works.
This will probably be the last version for a few days; I'll be away from the machine with the signing keys. If it looks good I'll move version 3.3 to the main directory.

Thanks! I installed 3.3 and it installed and seems to launch fine.
However, it doesn't appear to be picking up text from HTML emails as far as I can tell.
Downloaded latest version from the Beta directory and installed. Not sure if this is version 3.3. Works fine so far except the following minor observations:
Does not pick up text from html emails (you may already know; just logging here)

OK; now both the options and the applications->Menuitem are at version 3.3.
I had to uninstall Menuitem from the application list and also had to delete the Menuitem module from the list of modules. Then I reinstalled from the v3.3 beta directory and now the versions do match. No luck with the HTML text though.
Another data point I'd like to collect is whether you're all using BES or BIS. I'm using BES. Apparently this has something to do with how the HTML is rendered.
When I tried to add an HTML email to the calendar, it said something like "retrieving more content...." and then there was nothing in the notes section of the appointment on the calendar.

You're almost there. I can't get the text all at once so if you escape out of the new calendar event all the way back to the email, then try again, you'll have the message content in the note. The popup message you get has words to that effect, but probably is not clear enough.

Interesting...it does work for me when I do it twice in a row as you suggest.
Do you think there will be a way for you to make it work the first time?
My wife will be happy - she's on a BES so it looks like it will work as-is for her.
This "do it twice" behavior is the same regardless of BES vs BIS, so your wife will see the same thing. However, there must be a way to do it all in one go, since the berrylogic app was able to do it. I'll investigate.

I've been having trouble with getting all the email text "all in one go", to address some of the concerns above; then I got hung up on what to do if you aren't able to get the message because, say, you're on a plane; then I just got stalled.
I'll take a look at SMS as a mental-block breaker.
This app is just what I need.
If there any chance to add this feature to SMS?
Turns out this is really simple. Would you prefer the body of the SMS be added to the subject of the new calendar entry, or a new calendar entry with no subject and the body of the SMS in the Notes field?
--edit--
Check out version 3.4.1 with this functionality today. I'm currently copying the SMS text into the subject of the calendar entry. I could just as easily add an option to choose between the subject and the notes field. Please let me know which makes more sense.
