cant seem to understand why my battery is charging extra slow, someone help me plz

Not sure if you're charging it with the travel charger or the USB sync cable through PC, but you may want to try putting your device in standby mode while it's charging. I've noticed that it's a HUGE difference charging through a PC...haven't really checked as far as the travel charger goes, but it can't hurt!

USB, Wall or Car? Mine charges slow via USB, pretty fast via the wall and in the car I don't really know because I usually just plug it in for the "maintenance charge" while on the go.

ive been charging with the usb in my laptop but never tried the travel charger yet

do you have blackberry drivers installed on your computer? if you dont that will charge it very slow.
should be on the cd that comes with the phone. install and then plug in and should see a big difference

Also, make sure your USB 2.0 is enabled in the BIOS

I have noticed mine charges fast with the wall charger and much slower in the car than my 8700 or 8100.

It isn't a bid deal, just an observation.

On the battery life issue, i think it is good. I can easily get through a day with hard use.

Well put it this way. Your car battery is probably 35+ Amps normally stepped down to 1 or 2 Amps, unless you buy cheep foreign stuff and get a 0.5 Amp one. Wall charger is down graded to 5v 700 miliAmps or 0.7Amps, the laptop is 5v and 500 miliAmps or 0.5 Amps. So yes with lower Amperage it will take longer to charge. Think of amperage as pressure in a water pipe and you have a bath tub to fill with water. What one do you think will fill the tub faster 1-2 Amps, 0.7 Amps, or 0.5 Amps. Laptop is the slowest.

My car's the fastest, as Caspan noted above. Never used usb. Wall is slower if the BB is off IMO, faster if I leave it on.

As stated, make sure the drivers are installed on your computer. It will make a big difference in charging speed.

If you're charging from a USB hub instead of a system port, you may be delivering as little as 100mA (the minimum at which the handset considers itself as being charged); a system port (especially with the BlackBerry USB drivers installed) will deliver 500mA. Many BlackBerry chargers will deliver 750mA.

A BlackBerry handset can ingest up to 1600mA (1.6A) - and charges at warp speeds if it gets that.

So getting enough current out of the charger is important.

If you're using a third-party battery, the BlackBerry may be slowing down its recharge rate as a safety precaution - some past incidents with those raised the red flag - and they were pretty sure you'd rather get a slower recharge than a fire or explosion.
