I tried new new upgrade .185 and it does not compare to Rogers release 4.6.0.162, which I believe is a much more superior version.

Really, please explain what makes you think that?

I find it more better with some issues I was noticing.

Default Keeps upgrading core applications

I finally loaded 185 and it works.

But everytime I go to Desktop Manager it says I need to upgrade core applications, and it reloads a net_rim_sonic_desktop_manager or something like that, and sometimes other media managers like media loader background, etc. I tried uninstalling the OS on the computer and reinstalling the OS--no help.

I haven't had this happen before. Any ideas?

I am in the middle of upgrading my Bold from .167 to .185 using the link in this thread.

The one thing that bothers me is that is seems when using the Multilanguage version I lose the ability to input Simplified Chinese and Japanese.

Any advice on how to get it back?
I failed to find a EastAsia version of the .185 firmware.

Second, I seem to have lost my Poker game that came on the device when I bought it.
How do I get that back also?
I tried the apploader, wiping the device and checking for hidden programs....
But nothing seems to work.

Anyone please?

Does it just say "Loading..." for you? I just checked and that's what I'm getting. I don't really care about CV, though, so it isn't a big deal for me.

I had this issue until i went into browser options and changed prompt before "Switch to WAP for streaming media." make sure the box is checked, that fixed it for me.

Great build!
Fewer memory leaks and better browser performance.
GPS negative altitude got corrected.

Actually my problem is when i first open the CV program it says " Sorry CV is unavailable at your current location. Please try again later"

I've used it here, my house, before and it was fine. It is saying this all over san diego now, starting this morning. Maybe the serve is temporarily down in my area.

Yet another question:
When you invoke the .185 file ( 9000M_PBr4.6.0_rel242_PL4.0.0.134_A4.6.0.125_TIM_I taly.exe) to run, do you get prompted to repair or delete the DTM 4.6? If so, which one do you choose?

remove older versions from ur pc
install new version
go to program file/common file/research in motion/apploader and delete vendor file...

run dtm 4.6, it will scan and tell u that new os available , update now? say yes....

i dont know what u mean by repair or delete?

With 4.6 installed, when I invoke the Itay file (.185) DTM searches, then asks if I want to a) repair or b) delete 4.6.

You must be running the wrong file. Somehow the file names got switched (not impossible). An easy way to test: Right Click-->Properties on the file, and the "Size" of the Device software should be "93.4 MB", if it is a different, you got them switched. This can easily happen by mistake.

This happened to me too. I think streaming video is def. broken for this build. Also, when I even try to go to YouTube - Broadcast Yourself., the page shows up as blank. I was going to check and see if YouTube videos still worked, but I can't even test it. How strange!

It is such a pity that we do not get to see any release notes with the new release - or anything to indicate what new feature tweaks we should see, which bugs have been addressed etc.

I've upgrdaded from .167 to .185 and have not spotted anything different yet!

1) Downloaded the program
2) Ran the program
3) Deleteted Vendor.xml
4) Pluged in the 9000
5) DTM asked if I want to update, indicate yes
6) DTM looks at the unit, the say's "no update is needed".
7) Go into options (on the unit), about, and still shows v4.6.0.167

What am I doing wrong?

BTW, now, there is no vendor.xml in the apploader folder. before, it just got rplaced by a shadow file.

I believe I have found the solution to this:
