Default Can two GPS applications run at the same time?

I'm trying to get GPSed running, it seems to work pretty good until I switch to Google Maps, then when I switch back to GPSed, it says its lost its sat connection. It regains it in a few seconds.

I thought since GPSed is able to access the GPS (I thought it was supposed to be locked?), that I could then switch to google maps and it would be able to get a fix? It *does* get a fix, for a few seconds at least, when I've already started GPSed, but then when I switch to GPSed it has lost its own fix.

Very confused about how the GPS works in my BB.

Some people say, with VZW that if you purchsed the VZ Navigator that you would be able to use Google Maps, but I have not had any luck. I just suck it up if I want GPS on my BB and pay for it.

It seems to be a direct conflict between Google Maps and GPSed. GPSed will run fine, in the foreground or background, until I launch (or switch back to) Google Maps. After that, if I switch back to GPSed, it has lost its satellite connection.

I have Alltel, not Verizon, but I thought the GPS was somewhat locked on Alltel, too. But GPSed has no problems accessing it.

Google maps on the other hand, doesn't pick up a signal from the GPS unless I'm using another GPS application first (BB maps, GPSed), then it will zero in with a sat signal for just a few seconds, then revert back to the huge raduis mode (triangulation?).
