Run the Media app, hit menu and select 'Explore'.

Simple - IM consolidation into a single application.

i dont see why that is really a benefit, at the end of the day when i get IM messages they appear in MESSAGES... i prefer having proprietary apps unless of course the app you are talking about has some added functionality apart from consolidation.

really what i think all of us are waiting for is real VOIP and preferably a real SKYPE for bb bold and storm now that a blackberry has a decent powered ARM processor.

@Sonict120
i have an 8GB which is cheap but u can get a 16GB for about 70$ now and it will work in the bold

I suspect you are in the extreme minority. There are many consolidated clients:

Palringo
IM+
Mundu
JiveTalk
Instango

BlackBerry Instant Messaging Clients (Head-to-Head Review) | BlackBerry Cool

and then on the desktop:

Trillian
Miranda
Adium
Meebo
Pdgin
etc...

You may want to download and try a few to see what all the fuss is about that would cause so many of these applications to be developed. Up to you.

on my mac i am a big adium user and yes the consolidation there is worth it... but also because there is no proprietary google talk for OSX, msn messenger for mac is very much below par... and it has facebook messenger on it as well, but i do use ichat.

thanks very much for the head to head review i will have a look and decide if im actually doing the right thing or not.

i still think that blackberry needs a proper apple styled app store... the little grouping on the start up page in the bb browser is truly pathetic.

or have i missed the proper bb app store

p.s. sorry for mentioning apple
