Default OCS 2007 Client Alert Issues

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have the OCS 2007 v2.1.10 client installed on my Curve 8330. Lately sometimes when I get an IM when I am at my desk, I will only get the alert on my BB and not on my OCS2007 client on my computer. Even sometimes I get the alert on my computer, and start a conversation, and sometimes a reply form someone will go to the Blackberry instead of my pc.

Has anyone had an issue like this?

Thanks,

Sean

Yes, this is highly annoying. There has to be a way that you can have a "preferred" OCS client that handles the alerts by default and only if that client is unavailable would the BB OCS client receive the alert. That does not look like an option to date.

Yes exactly. We used to use Sametime, and the BB Sametime client did that. Only one or the other client would be active at once. Hopefully they fix that in the next version.

After I deployed this to our enterprise I got pinged so many times from coworkers on this. I have searched and serched, but cannot find a way to make the message routing stick.

I have been advising people to sign in and out, but thats a pain. So I usually just dont use the bb client when I am in the office.

We see the same thing in our environment. However, I don't think the problem lies within RIM's court. You can reproduce the same problem by logging into the OCS client on two different desktop machines.

I've advised my users the same - log out of the client you're not using.
