Default 4.7.0.75 install won't complete

Please Login to Remove!

Hmmm.

Verizon 9530.

Backed up phone.

Downloaded beta OS.

Installed beta OS.

Deleted Vendor XML.

Ran OS.

Opened newest DM.

It found 4.7 core apps upgrade.

It loaded cods, etc.

It told me it was connecting to device.

It hourglassed for 2 minutes.

DM told me it successfully updated.

Phone is still running .65

I had read, before successfully upgrading to 4.7.0.75, that so long as you are using a 9530 with Verizon you need not delete the Vendor.xml file.

Please see the post on Crackberry to which I refer.

With or without does not matter. Give me a second and I will post alternative upgrade instructions.

1. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 20 minutes depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Troy

DO you have the link to get .76? I had the same experience with .75.

Thanks 73

As I posted elsewhere, my update was failing due to old crap on my computer.

I completely uninstalled the BlackBerry Desktop software (v4.7) and re-installed, then ran the manual installation for the .75 update. Worked then.

Otherwise it just "updated core apps" whatever that was.

As an aside, this never happened on my older BlackBerries (7290, 8700c, 8703e, etc.). But then again neither did the "it won't charge without connecting to a computer first."

I upgraded this way, but only took like 5 minutes?! Did it install successfully? I already had the leaked .75 on the phone but wanted the official Verizon releases from there site. Still though took like 5 minutes, any other upgrade Ive done took at least 20 minutes or longer
