Hi Guys

Just taken back my Storm due to battery problems and got a BOLD.

Where is the lock or standby key?

DO i really have to find a wi fi hot spot everytime i want to read emails or use internet? I thought it would all go through the vodafone network as with the storm? When i pressed the browser on the storm, i got internet anywhere without having to set up any wifi?

The button is on the top left of the phone. Where it was on past berries.

As for the internet... If you have a berry data plan and no browser is there, you need service books. Options>advanced>host routing table. Hit menu and register. If that still doesn't work, call 611 and have them push the books

It sounds like your Bold hasn't been activated yet. Follow the steps mentioned above.

The standby key is at the top of the device and you should have a lock icon on your bb desktop. If it isn't showing hit menu key and select show all, highlght it, hit menu key and select 'hide' this will place it on your desktop

From the Home Screen you can press and hold K for a second to lock the keyboard. I use that instead of going into standby. To unlock, press A and then press the green phone key.

You need to have your Blackberry activated with your provider in order to use the internet and use push email.

when i press and hold k it just asks me if i want to assign a speed dial number for it...what gives?

You will need to disable "Dialing from Home Screen" in order for the "hotkeys" to function as you expect. I highly recommend reading through the Blackberry FAQs that are posted throughout the forum and "stickied" at the top of this forum for Bold specific tips and tricks. Disabling "Dialing from Home Screen" is explained step-by-step there.
