ok, been trying to figure this out for long time now and i'm to the point of thinking it cant be done.

I'm trying to make it so when i get a new email all the phone does is vibrate. The vibrate sound profile is not an option because i still want rings for my phone calls and SMS messages, i just dont want any audible sound for emails.

any help

Just change the setting under profiles. Pick the one you want then click on the email address and change the setting there.

It took me 2 attempts to get it right. Once you're on the page, scan down for other options for receiving messages, text, SMS, etc. There's a lot more options than what's just on the top of the screen.

you can create a custom profile. under sounds, custom profile, messages, select your email address, edit vibration and select on. That will leave all of settings to normal, but change your email to always vibrate when you get mail.

I've also been having the same issue.. I set my profile to loud, but then turn notifications for any emails to silent.

yet i still get the bing on new messages :P

Just set volume to "silent" on anything you don't want to hear. Email, SMS, whatever.

New messages or new emails? Each has it's own setting.

"HENBALLS" said it better than I did. In 'Sounds', create a user profile than encompasses all of the alerts you want for each form of contact and label it your own profile. Phone, e-mail, SMS's, etc. I've done this with two separate e-mail addresses so I can tell them apart while the phone's still in my pocket.

Can anyone tell me why when I have the email (desktop) set to not vibrate or have a sound(silent) it still vibrates when I get an email?
