Definitely speeds things up but the picture viewer is still embarassingly slow. Flipping from portrait to landscape practically crashes the phone. It takes about 15-20 seconds to recover. Not sure if it's because the original picture sizes are relatively large (from our 8 MP camera).
Guys try this as I was having the same issues.
1. disconnect the phone from your pc.
2. Download .75 to your desktop
3. If you already tried installing the .75 uninstall it.
4. Then reinstall it.
5. Go into you C:, program files, common files, Research in motion, AppLoader.
6. Delete the XML (Verizon) file
7. Then open the Desk top Manager and connect your phone.
8. If it doesn't automatically tell you there's an update available, choose Application Loader.
9. Choose Update Software
10. It should now list a bunch of things that will get updated (I believe there is a warning message as well telling you that it's going to uninstall apps.
11. When you click next you should be on your way.
Good luck! Mike
it doesn't imporve battery life, if you have seen an improvement, it might be because you've stopped using it as much...
one thing ive noticed that wasn't mentioned was it fixes the video playback toolbar which used to never pop up. Now it pops up everytime you touch the screen (no need to click just touch)
another improvement not mentioned is hover sensitivity and functionale was greatly improved
sweet upgrade...i have a feeling (as has been mentioned) that this is not the version that's going to be released...
I would had hoped for an improvement on the communication speed between the microSD card and video playback! (WAY TOO SLOW)!!!
I notice a small bug that kind of bother me a little bit. When you press the blackberry menu button then options, and you make any changes to it and save, the next time you try to click options it will not work. Is anyone else having this problem? If so, how did you fix it.
You will need to have your phone hooked up to your computer to execute the download of the upgrade. It will take anywhere from 20-45 minutes to complete the upgrade process.
That is interesting as VZ says they haven't released the update yet. Their site also doesn't show an update yet so I'm not sure what is going on.
here are two issues I noticed with 75.
1) the speed dial sound is missing. I know it annoyed some of you but I liked it.
2) Browser cookies are erased after reboots. I have to login again into all the forum sites after a reboot. With 65 I didn't have to, once I logged on I didn't have to login again even after re-boots
Good things are what everyone reported, better battery life, responsiveness, accelerometer, .... etc/
Question: this .75 version isn't the original OS version that was to be on the new Storms that Vzn pulled at the last minute is it? Wasn't that verson .82 or something (it's on the box under the .65 barcode label)?
I'm having TERRIBLE memory leak problems. It's been two days since I've done a battery pull and I went from 47 to 27 to 13 MB free in those days. Now up to 43 MB after a battery pull... I hope it stops.

I am experiencing the cookie issue. I will try a speed dial and report back.
Does anyone know when there will be a comparable update for the 9500 Storm? It seems like .76 and .75 have cured a few of the ills of the 9530, and it would be great if the same treatment were to be available for those in Blighty....
