Default Oh God!! Someone Please Help Me!!

Please Login to Remove!

Oh, man, I've done it now. I got a used Blackberry for me on ebay. Well, I had a ball customizing, etc. Anyway, my husband has one, has had it for a while. He doesn't get into doing anything more complicated than surfing the web and had never done anything to his phone a 7130c(which he has had for a while).

So, I decided to "help" him out, nice wife that I am. I was going to install a theme that I had put on mine with no problems. I do everything just the same and it froze up while trying to install it!!!! The message on the screen says: "abort instruction
reset"

I really don't know what I am doing, why oh, why, did I do this?!!! I have about an hour to fix it or he will KILL me!!! someone PLEASE HELP ME!!!
I am trying to do what this page says:

(it won't let me post it!ugggh) Its at blackberry faq dot com slash index slash wipe blackberry using JlCmder

But as I said, I'm a total newb to this, and I don't know if I can!!!!

Yes. and ctrl+alt+del

It keeps going to only this one screen. It wil only let me click "reset" then it just goes back to the same screen. absolutely nothing else, and I have pushed every button on it.

Right now I have deleted Desktop manager and am downloading it again, and downloadin a new os like that site said to do.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 9530)

I think that reinstalling the OS is the way to go. Just keep following the directions.

Like J.C. said,
Run JL_Cmder,of course this will delete all files from your device..hope you have a backup on your PC? If not I can direct you to a very good divorce attorney's web site.

Listen... a device wipe/loading an OS is not the end of the world. By your own admission, he doesn't use it for much anyway... so it will be fine.

My experience is that a wipe/OS reload results in a faster running device. So, in fact, your husband will probably thank you for helping him out. When he does, just be cool and act like you planned the entire process.

Good luck.

He might not used it for much beyond a phone but all his contacts will be gone if no backup was performed. Any other little bits of information he had, memos or similiar information.

I have seen that same error and the battery pull always does it but a reload will work if that fails.

I saw her sig indicated she had "3"posts but noticed she only posted twice in this thread.

I looked up her other post and it was from today @ about 8:00 this morning:

I just bought a 7100t from ebay, and I love it. I was up late last night installing games, etc. I know I'm a little late to the party, but Blackberries are COOL! I am having so much fun customizing my phone.

A couple of questions:

1. This is an unlocked 7100t(made for tmobile), and I am using ATT. I had an razor once like this, and I never could get on the internet with it, will this do the same thing? I haven't switched out my sims yet, my mom is adding us all on her bill for xmas, so I'm going to do that with it, instead of what I've got.
2. Also, do I need to update the OS? I have 4.0.0, I'm kinda nervous about doing that ,also, I'm a complete newb to this.
3. I have downloaded and am using the newest Desktop, and I don't think I can use the media manager with it. I still would like to get my pics on my phone, so should I download an older Desktop?

BTW, cool site and forums!!!

Three hours late she killed her DH's phone!!

I sure hope that STEFANY B Alright!

Now - I am going to start putting MY phone in a lockbox at night before my wife decides to "help" me out!!

Hey, guys, I'm still alive! LOL, you guys are freaking hilarious!!

Ok, I'm not divorced, hubby's didn't get too mad, but I had some problems with the wipeout. I had to quit working on it, so much crazy stuff going on around here( I have teenagers) and I'm just now getting to finishing it.

Violater, you sound just like someone who knows me, lol. Yes, I am pretty brave (stupid) when it comes to trying new things. I just figured since everything I done with mine worked fine, his would too. I was having so much fun doing it,too! I could just picture it, him being so impressed with what I had done with his phone. I guess I got too caught up in my fun.

I used to have a razor and I done some simple modifications with it, ( with help) and I was ready for the next step! (J/K)

When I was doing the wipe, it would not do it. So I click on the link where it says 'what to do if Jl Cmder will not wipe" and thats where I have problems. It says to use a DOS command, and change the directory to "whatever"(it tells what).

I don't know how to change the directory, it tells you how in step 2, but it starts with "from C:/" and mine doesn't start there. Mine has C:/documentsandsettings/.... and a long string of other stuff. And it won't click anywhere in the string, or highlight and delete for me to start from C:

I know I'm not making a lot of sense, I am VERY new to this. I know, I know I should have got a little more experience before I started frying phones, but I was enjoying myself soooo much!
