Note:
This was for testing purposes only as I wanted to see if it could be done or not.
A few years ago I worked for a company who's CTO left before I started working for them, he basically ran off with all their software including BES. After searching around I managed to find someone who worked for a company that sold BES and he was able to get them a download/install version of 4.1 for Exchange.
The other day I was going through my CDs and I realized I still had, but without the SRP ID/Key, and CALs.

This weekend I migrated my SBS 2003 to SBS 2008 which was a feat in itself. Anyhow I got rid of my BPS server and thought since the BES 4.1.6 trial server time bombs why I don't I give this 4.1.0 a try. So I read here that you need 4.1.3 for Exchange, boy weren't you wrong!
I downloaded what was needed, the Mapi Cdo, SQL 2005 Express with the Management Studio, and the BES 4.1.5 service pack as it was the largest upgrade since 4.1.0.
After creating the BESadmin account on Exchange 2007, and adding it to the server (a different box no SBS) and logged in as BESadmin I installed the SQL 2005 Express, then installed the Exchange Mapi Cdo, then installed BES 4.1.0. Once I got to the end where it asks "start sevices?" I clicked that option off and applied 4.1.5 to the server after it installed I agreed to starting the services which all of them started successfully.
So now I am going to apply the rest of the patches unless someone can tell me if I add the latest one 4.1.6.mr2 if it will fix everything between 4.1.5 and that patch?
Thanks
Andrew
