I can't seem to get my mobireader to work. Everytime I use it on my pearl(or try to use it) and I try to connect to 'my acct' or go to the ebookstore, it keeps giving me 'an error occured while accessing the list of eBookstores(network timeout)' Does anybody know what to do with this?

Another vote here for MTextReader 2.2
Set Q and P as your left and right buttons.. spacebar is the 'fire' button and also triggers autoscroll (which I don't use). There are page down/up keys as well as line down/up. (Multiple, so you can find the combo you like best.)
MTextReader can read textfiles directly.

PDF Reader
I saw some people mention reading the ebooks as pdfs. I don't have a problem with mobibook even though it only uses half the screen at the moment (yes, I'm using the Storm), but if you're looking for a pdf viewer I just downloaded Beamreader and it seems to be working very well for viewing pdfs so far.

eReader Coming to BB in Early 2009
I was happy to see this post at TeleRead dated 12/16/08:
eReader still on track for Blackberry in early 2009
By David Rothman
eReader is coming to the Blackberry, as TeleRead community members know from Chris Meadows’ posts.
And now here’s some fresh, helpful reassurance from eReader/Fictionwise’s Scott Pendergrast. “We are hard at work on a Blackberry version of the reader,” he tells an FW e-mail list. “I think we’ll have a beta out early next year. It’s a priority.”

ebook reader for blackberry pearl 8130?
I followed this thread eagerly hoping for an answer and was wondering if a good ebook reader for blackberry has been located. I tried mobipocket. It installed properly according to the messages. I synced and sent books to the device. I checked the memory card and located the books. However the library did not recognize anything but the ebook store and there was no way to browse and point the reader to the card. I installed and reinstalled several times with no luck. I even uninstalled and reinstalled BB desktop manager and mobipocket and started clean with no luck.
I am hesitant to try wattpad as I read reviews about possible copyright violations. I am also scared to download the jedi (not to mention the link was invalid).
I am a brand new newbie to BB. I LOVE my pearl and would love to have a reader. I did install Olive Tree that reads a Bible. I don't know the file format for the Bibles. Do you think that Olive Tree would read other files besides the Bibles?

I can't answer your specific problem, but check the forums at mobileread.com. That site has everything you could want to know about electronic books--devices, formats, software, conversions, accessories, etc.

There was an update for eReader from 1.024 to 1.027 released yesterday. Not sure what it fixed, since I didn't have too many troubles with the earlier version. Dictionaries are still unsupported (grrr...).

I've found mobipocketreader to be a great little app. Especially for reading pdf's and such. I had some issues initially where it wouldn't connect to the online database / library but this was solved by altering the permissions in the applications list for the advanced options menu on the phone.

What FREE reader works with all of these for my Storm??

eReader Pro for Blackberry
I don't see it posted here but eReader Pro now has a version available for blackberry!
Quote:
You must install eReader for BlackBerry directly from your device's built-in browser. For your convenience, you can copy and paste this web address in an email and open it on your Blackberry:
ereader.com/bb

And for the last post there.. mobipocket works on all including the Storm so I'm told!

ereader pro prob on BB 8830
Downloaded and installed fictionwise ereader pro for BB. Clicking on icon briefly shows ereader pro logo but app doesn't start. Have uninstalled, done battery pull, then reinstalled app 2X with same results. Anyone have a solution?

Use Wattpad. Easy install, many books, never had a lick of problem out of it. Agree with the "holy antiquated thread" comment.
