You don't have to take the phone apart to make this modification. You would just need to remove the trackball assembly. It is a rather safe and easy process.

... and underneath that^ you'll see a tiny LED...


i took a few pieces of clear tape, colored them red and cut them with a small blade and put them over the led...

i reassembled the trackball which took all but two seconds put my hand over the screen and saw a red glow...



just be gentle... and take your time...

just a suggestion, i used a colored piece fo post it note paper, it works better then the tape and the color is better....

Sweet, I just did it. It was really simple and now my trackball is a light teal which matches the ocean on my wallpaper. If you wanna change up your phone without having to take it apart, this is a nice alternative.

They have a "how to" on YouTube.. I just used a piece of transparent tape and nail polish...lol now my trackball is very cherry..lol

got a link?

how did you get the tape on the light? i tried doing it to one of my friend's and the LED on the 8330 was basically underneath the BB menu button makin it really hard to get to...
