this doesn't happen every single time, but it happens quite regularly...here's what's going on:

i get notifications when emails arrive (duh), and this works as it's supposed...EXCEPT when my wife emails me...i get no audible notification...i'll look down and see the light flashing red, or i'll pick up the phone to call or email and notice i have an email...like i said, it doesn't happen every single time she emails me, but it does happen quite regularly...what the deuce?

using a curve, 4.5 OS...

have you tried editing the profiles? Go into your profiles -> Advanced and Edit the profile you are using to change how your BlackBerry acts when you got an email/SMS/etc.

yeah, all profiles setup the exact same...this doesn't happen all the time, and only when my wife emails me...so, if my wife emails me 10 times a day, about 4 of those would be silent, no notification...and this doesn't happen for any other sender....

If she has multiple email addresses, is it silent when she sends from one, and notifies normally when she send from the other(s)?

Does she have any exceptions in the profile?

OK...i think after UncleMike's suggestion of multiple email addresses and SteveO86's questioning exceptions, i think i have it figured out...

- she DOES have multiple email addy's
- she IS listed in an exception, but for only ONE of her email addresses (hence it happens only part of the time when she emails me)

the exception profile was setup for a specific ring tone and volume, however it also silenced other notifications (email, sms, etc)...whew!! i thought i was going crazy...but i think this was the problem...we'll experiment, but i think this should take care of it (if i adjust the profile)
