I'm using a BlackBerry Storm, and I'm thinking about going to Cape Town in a few weeks.

If I got it unlocked, and used a Vodacom Prepaid SIM Card (with BlackBerry service enabled on the account), would my existing BIS email get sent to my device on the Vodacom network?

Yup. it should. I was using my Rogers bis with a wind sim while i was in Greece over the summer and my email worked just fine.
