reduced hours / pay. 8 friends unemployed at the moment. 8.7 unemployment in NC, safe to say they are worse off too.

My cleaning company has almost stopped, I am working 2 jobs now. I am waiting for a BIG contract in Salt Lake City but they aren't going to do anything until the economy "gets better", looks like im going to be waiting awhile!

I am fortunately in a heavily military population so it hasn't affected this area much

But yes it is affecting. Commision restructuring.....

I am one of the lucky few I suppose... I chose Law Enforcement in the early 1990's when job cuts were abound because of job security...

My wife is an accountant who just got a job with a very reputable and established firm...

I am better off now than I have ever been before.... But I am a small and lucky percent of the population....

I am better off than 5 years ago but worse off than 3 yrs ago. What has saved me is my Ph.D.

I am better off than 5 years ago. I make more money, and my company has opened doors for me. My future is as wide open as it has ever been. and this is the first new year i have been excited about in a long time.

Eh, wait about nine months. Once the newness wears off I would not be surprised to see the same type of issues we had during the Carter administration where we had a democratic congress and a democratic president. Remember the runaway inflation and 15 percent car loans?

Carter & Obama are vastly different. I think lessons were learned in the Carter days that benefit us now. But who knows, anything could happen.
