Default Opera Mini

This is by far miles ahead of the Blackberry browser, even just using the regular version (Not storm specific)

anyone know when Opera Mini will be releasing an official version for the storm?

There have been other threads on this issue and at this point no one know when a Storm specific version will be released. I myself can't wait for that to happen. I am still using the BB Browser over Opera Mini simply because I can't stand the zoom/keyboard issues with Mini right now.

Kinda off topic but can you sync opera to your email account when you click on an email address like the bb browser?

That was quite confusing... can you please restate the issue? Know that the Opera mini is not SPECIFICALLY for the storm just yet.

I have a storm and have installed opera and am way happy with how it performs. Ok there are issues with text entry but speed more than compensates for that. Opera is so much quicker and easier to use than the BB browser.

I have yet to figure out how to paste anything, like a url, into the address field.
Anyone?

Seems I jumped the gun with my earlier post. Having lived with opera for a couple of days I now find that on a storm there are issues with choosing pages within a thread. So, going back to BB browser! Speed is not everything.

Over and over I have given Opera mini a try and I always delete it and go back to BB browser. I have never liked how it handles pages or forms, etc. Drives me nuts.

I really liked using it on my 8130 I had, but prefer the BB browser currently on my storm. The navigation is easier and I just can't seem to get it to go to mobile view, keeps it in full page view. Waiting to see a Storm specific version to make a true assessment.

Have you Storm owners tried Opera Mini Generic 4 Advanced MIDP 2?

I'm using this and having no issues on my Storm. Mobile View also works quite well.

wow! opera mini is so fast! and I like the fact that it caches the pages as you go so its easy to navigate, say, 10 pages ago.

I cant wait for the storm release. I kinda like the fact that you dont have to click the screen to activate a link. You just tap the screen and it still works. Kinda gives the poor little button under the screen a little break

I loaded Opera Mini on the wifey's Curve and it is indeed a faster browser. But that is where it ends.

For actively using the internet and downloading apps, Opera Mini is definitely not up to par. While out at an event I needed to reload Facebook for BB and was absolutely unable to do it on Opera Mini. I went back to the stock browser and completed it in moments. I also decided to try downloading a ring tone and was also unable to do it on Opera Mini. Same reason - a form of pop-up error message.

Hopefully the developers will fix this because it is a fast application.
