8900 or 9000? ("New Curve" vs. "Bold)

Hi,
I am currently using an unlocked "Bold" on T-Mobile. It works great and I have no complaints. However, I qualify for a 2 year contract discount.
Should I get a "New Curve" or stick with my "Bold"?
As far as I can tell, the only difference would be that the "New Curve" has the 4.6.1 OS and the "Bold" doesn't. Is it worth signing away the next 2 years of my telecommunicating life to T-Mobile???

What is your addiction telling you? 
If I were in your shoes, I would make the jump to the 8900 so you can have a full feature capable device. I have a Bold on AT&T and I would make the jump to a 8900 for the form-factor alone. |

If you're being technical, always go with more memory (and no need to be so anal). There seems to be a new OS version released every other day. There will always be a better option available the day AFTER you make the purchase.  |

What's so good about UMA? I've heard of it (calling over your wifi, right?) but I'm not sure what the real benefit is. Do you have to have an additional plan for that? Are you sure you can't enable it on a Bold?

The 8900. But I own neither. Next week I'll be switching from Verizon (and the Palm Centro) to the 8900. Learned quite a bit the past few weeks since finding this site. Just have to separate the men from the boys |

If you get spotty service in or around your home, UMA can greatly increase signal strength via using your WiFi instead of the T-Mobile network.
You can also add the $9.99 service to be able to make unlimited UMA calls.

The 8900 also has a slightly better screen resolution and the camera is much better than the Bold.
If you want 3g, the Bold is the best, but you are on T-Mobile anyway (with no 3g available on your Bold), so why not get the 8900.

3G is of course yet to be mature in the United States. Moreover the very nature of a BlackBerry is different. The processor of 8900 is 112 Mhz slower than the Bold but I am not sure how evident would that be.

And remember that 8900 have the double of memory than Bold, is a balance between speed to run a program or space to run it

Well the 8900 Form factor is a lot smaller than bold.... So if you have big hands i would stay with the bold... I personally have the Storm unlocked for tmobile and it works wonders... But i would recommend the bold 10x over the 8900.... I had it for 3 days and went straight back to the storm..... I work for tmobile by the way so dont think im bashing it by any means

i prefer the 8900 over the bold due to the keyboard. i liked the bold alot, but with no space between the keys, i ended up with lots of spelling errors and i like UMA alot as well. Plus if you can get to the engineering screens on the bold, there is no option to configure UMA at all. i looked when i had the bold.

@seattleboi1982, quick question: I heard that the 8900's keyboard is cramped and that one could easily get a handful of typos--what's your take on this? I plan on getting a BlackBerry in the next two weeks or so. I only have a Bold to play with here in the Philippines (it's fast but it's just too big for my taste--like a 500mg tablet!) since none of our carriers offer the 8900 as of yet. I'm coming from an 8320. Any advice for a kid itching-to-get-a-new-BlackBerry like me?

I just recently made the jump from the Bold to the 8900, and couldn't be happier. Like Shaun there said, it's worth it just for the form factor alone. Plus better camera and better battery life over Bold's hungry 3G radio just seals the deal for me.

I'll be going to the 8900 just because I'm ready for an update. Besides I have to have a TMobile phone because I use over 5,000 minutes a month talking to MyFaves. I can't have a phone that isn't fully TMo capable.
When is the 8900 coming out for TMo?

Feb 11, and I'm going to get one as well. Just got my 8320 but I think the 8900 will be worth the up grade. For what I do anyway |
