Hi,
I read this bit of info on some Blackberry RSS feed. Now from what I can remember AT&T was going to move their 3g band to 850mhz and the regular service to a higher band (maybe 1900). Now if thats the case will all phones that use 850 band and can do 3g do 3g? I have a Storm that I'm using on AT&T and can only get EDGE speeds. So what I'm really wondering is it possible that if AT&T moves the 3g to the 850mhz band I will be able to use 3g, if it was true? Thanks.

no, you will not. the storm has quad-band EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 Mhz) it has Only 2100 Mhz (European) 3G BAND. Unfortunately you won't ever get 3g here in the US with the currently selling Storm (9500/9530).

Further, at&t Mobility offers UMTS/HSPA service on both the 850 and 1900 bands.

bear in mind it also depends which market you are in, as not every market has both. some markets may be 1900 only, and others may be a mix of both or primarily 850.
