No you do not. The video they show on cnn.cn isn't even in order from what I did.
Here's how I remember doing it:
1. Remove back cover and battery
2. Remove bottom back cover
3. Remove all 6 screws
4. Remove top front cover
5. Undo snap tabs to allow bezel to com away from the rest of the phone. This requires some playing around to get it apart
6. Remove keypad and trackball (these are one part) from bezel.
7. Remove lock and mute buttons from old bezel. I used a Xacto knife to peel them off.
8. Reinstall buttons on new bezel.
Reinstall keypad and trackball on bezel.
9. Snap bezel back onto board
10. Replace front top cover
11. Replace 6 screws
12. Snap on bottom back cover
13. Reinstall back door and battery
You might want to remove your SIM and memory card but this is not required.
As I said before this is how I remember it so the steps may be not be 100%
