You can only view certain video files on mobile phones, regardless of whether it is a blackberry or not.
you would have to conver the file, as there is no codec for the blackberry to allow you play such a file.

The short answer is that every video file format is its own special can of worms. Some formats like .avi are more like containers that can support a lot of different codec's.
I'm not a big expert on .wmv, but since it involves Microsoft, I'm sure there's some finicky stuff going on under the hood. I personally convert everything to .mp4 and scale to 480x320 for the Bold. This has been working for me.
I know this is a tall order, but if you could somehow make this video file available for download, I'd be happy to take a look at it and see if I can help. Just please make sure it doesn't contain anything my wife wouldn't want me to look at. ;-P
yea it's weird. The files were just sent to me in an email..should I open the email in a certain way?? It was a silly video, just a beer commercial. lol.
i see. the update may be the issue. Im running .162 right now. I'm with Rogers iin Canada (not sure if the carrier is relevant here), and haven't been able to find an update past .162. Does anybody have the link for an update?
