Default Question about roaming

Please Login to Remove!

If I go aboard using the same phone, turn on my BB and connect to the local GPRS, Will I be able to send and receive e-mail?

Dose the local carrier need to has Blackberry service or just simply GPRS?

I've called my carrier and they told me that I only need to apply for phone roaming and international data plan (5MB/month) After I turn on the BB, the "gprs" will turn into "GPRS" and I can use the e-mail.

Is this true?

Yes,it's true.Be careful though,1MB of data in roaming goes up to 6 Euro or more.Sign up for a data plan but be sure to ask them how much you pay when using Internet!I ran bills of more than 300 Eur for using Internet in roaming.

Yes, but be careful! I went to Israel this summer and had a layover in Germany. While in Germany, I turned on my phone and the Blackberry service worked! But when I got my phone bill, the price was pretty hefty for that few hours of roaming. In Israel, I used Talk n' Save which provided some really decent service at not too painful a price (IMO).
