Desktop Manager Neverending Aplication Ugrade/Delete
Please Login to Remove!
It seems that it doesn't matter if I've just upgraded the OS or am just syncing contacts, Desktop Manager (4.6) always wants to do certain things. Specifically...
Update Blackberry 4.6 Core Applications
Delete Danish, Swedish, Norwedian & Blackberry Fast Predictive Input Method Library
I don't recall if it was the case with the 4.6 OS that shipped with my device. But, It certainly was the case w/OS .216 and now w/OS .221
Has anyone come across a fix for this?

That is how mine always goes too. It doesn't actually do the upgrade.

I did uninstall the OS from PC right after my upgrade.
Bold connect to DM faster without annoying "check for update"

I have the same problem, it fixed it originally but it go worse. You might try going to add/remove progs and go to "change" for the dm installer and remove the updater component. But I've been testing out a bunch of builds for several models so my experiences may be of my own doing

Hmm.. what is the "updater" supposed to do?
I think most people that follow the official launches and the betas upgrade on their own. Is the "updater" supposed to automatically look for more current versions of the RIM system/applications?
Does changing the DM in that way effect installed OS's the way removing DM does?

Hello, I was able to solve it.
I went to C:\Documents and Settings\....\....\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader Cache\
and deleted
net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_danish_45k_2.cod
net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_danish_ltr.cod
net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_norwegian_45k_2.cod
net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_norwegian_ltr.cod
net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_swedish_45k_2.cod
net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_swedish_ltr.cod
And that's it

see if it works...

Here is what I did - I did a search in Windows for the phrase "Loader Cache". I didn't find the files mentioned above; instead I found a folder with a GUID for a name (FYI - a GUID looks something like this: 67db738kc01b755jd42aafd2289f98f6a3h6439c)
It had some subfolders in it, called Java, and UMTS. I created another folder in the Loader Cache folder, called "hey this was here before", and copied the folder with the GUID name into it. That is just in case I really did need this GUID folder, who knows?
Then I reconnected my BlackBerry Bold, and synced again.
It created a second folder, with another, different GUID, for its name, in the Loader Cache folder, with nothing at all in it.
So I surmised that this GUID folder is some sort of semaphore (marker) file, and, it can also contain things that need to be loaded.
Anyway, I re-connected my Bold again, and it re-synced once more. This time, it did not do the Danish/Swedish thing. So I guess it looked for a GUID folder, checked inside, found nothing, and did nothing.
Hope this helps.

See I did a search for "loader cache" and it found nothing....
Also the Swedish, norweigen and danish it keeps asking to update and on the list says remove; I couldn't find .cod to that effect either.
It strange, but oh well.

I took note of the cods that would always be copied (some medialoader related ones), and moved those files into a temp folder in the OS files on the PC. Seem to have stopped it, the "upgrade" doesn't happen anymore.

I've found the permanent solution.
Close the Desktop Manager then browse to ... C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader and locate the Vendor.xml file and DELETE IT
now run the DM again and you should never be asked to update these.
