Angry Blackberry Bold Mass Storage Problem on Mac

Please Login to Remove!

I cannot get the device to appear on my desktop. Here are the facts:
  • Using a Macbook Pro (very 1st generation)
  • Running Leopard with all newest updates installed
  • I have a 4gb memory stick in the phone.
  • Mass Storage Mode is enabled on the Bold
  • Auto enable for mass storage is set to "Yes"

Is anyone else having this problem? Because of this problem, I can't use doubleTwist, sync the phone, or even manually move files to and from. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I have tested the 9000 on old mac under leopard (powerbook). I was able to access it.

maybe it's USB problem. Does the BB show that is charging? If not it's most likely USB problem. Try a USB hub with external power or chanhe the USB port.

Thanks. It does show that it is charging when connected to the computer (oddly though, it stops when I connect it to a externally powered USB drive), but it still does not show up on the desktop. It will sometimes show up in Pocketmac (some contacts will sync, but it never finishes and doesn't get past the contacts part of the sync).

Just as another data point, my BB Bold connects fine with my Mac Mini (Leopard).

I use a Dell PC at work and use a short USB to USB mini cable to connect my BBB the my PC. For some reason, I can't use this same cable with my Mac and BBB. I have no idea why...

But by using another cable, my BBB can be seen 100% of the time. BTW, on the Mac desktop I see two images, one for the device memory and the other for the SD card. Sweet way to easily transfer files/music/images...

Good luck. Try swapping out your cable...
